Days after she tweeted cryptic messages about a 30-day sentence, we learn that R&B singer Keyshia Cole is facing jail time.
Apparently, the “Love” recording artist is facing 30 days in jail for a crime she committed 10 years ago. At least that’s what she told fans.
According to TMZ, “Cole was in a L.A. County court this week … trying to explain to a judge that a very old arrest warrant was a gigantic mistake. The warrant was issued in 2004 because Cole failed to submit proof to the judge that she completed her alcohol ed class after a 2002 DUI conviction.”
While Cole’s lawyer claims that the singer completed the required course, there is no paperwork to prove it.
Fortunately for the Steve Madden collaborator, the judge showed her a glimmer of mercy, telling her lawyer he would let her skate if they could submit proof she finished the classes. A hearing is set for February.
This is Cole’s year! Let’s hope she has the papers to back up her story. – ruu hawkins
