Holidays parties are in full swing and the festive drinks are beginning to flow. For your next event, be ready to impress with your own flavorful and creative drink.

The humble candy cane has made the leap from holiday tree garnishment and fireplace accent to being the star of quite a few holiday beverages. Feel free to experiment on your own with some of the combinations that we have included here. Some of these recipes can give you a nice head start on creating your very own signature holiday drink. For those who are not liquor drinkers, there are even ways to substitute the hard liquors in each recipe for soda or a variety of non-alcoholic accents.

Below are a few little-known recipes for tasty and tantalizing holiday inspired drinks that all include one of the biggest symbols of the holiday season – the colorful and very recognizable candy cane.


Candy Cane Cocktail

  • 1 candy cane, crushed, for garnish
  • 2 ounces strawberry vodka
  • 4 dashes white creme de menthe
  • 2 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
  • Ice cubes

Peppermint Twist – Cold Cocktail


  • 1 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
  • 1 oz. Kahlua
  • 1 oz. Brown Creme de Cacao
  • Candy Cane Martini
  • 1.5 oz. Absolut Vanilia Vodka
  • 1.5 oz. White Creme de Cocoa
  • 1.0 oz. Dekuyper Peppermint Schnapps
  • 1.0 oz. Half & Half

White Chocolate Peppermint Marshmallow Martini

  • Marshmallow sundae topping
  • 2 peppermint candies, crushed
  • Ice
  • 1/4 cup vanilla vodka
  • 1 Tablespoon peppermint schnapps
  • 1/4 Cup white chocolate liqueur

White Christmas Dream

  • 1 ounce Amaretto
  • 1 ounce Heavy Cream
  • 1 ounce Vodka
  • Mix all ingredients with ice in a shaker . Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Option: Garnish with nutmeg.

Peppermint Stick

  • 1.5 ounces Creme De Cacao
  • 1 ounce cream
  • 1 ounce Peppermint Schnapps
  • Shake well with ice, strain into glass. Garnish with miniature candy cane.

The Grinch

  • 2 ounces Midori
  • 1/2 ounce Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar syrup
  • Mix all ingredients with ice in a shaker. Strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with cherry.
