Actors Kevin Costner and Anthony Mackie attended a special screening of Black or White in Atlanta on Thursday, January 22, 2015 and participated in a special Q and A session led by popular media personality Monica Pearson.

Black or White is the story about a white grandfather, Elliott Anderson (Academy Award winner Kevin Costner) who is predeceased by his daughter and wife to rear a young mixed race granddaughter Eloise (Jillian Estelle) on his own. Eloise’s paternal black grandmother Rowena Jeffers (Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer) doesn’t think that decision is in Eloise’s best interest. The child longs for the affection of her father Reggie Davis, a reformed addict (played André Holland, who played Andrew Young in Selma)

Rowena seeks custody and the legal battle begins but along the journey Elliott and Rowena unearth feelings they’ve kept buried deep …let the healing begin.
