Many of the ladies of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives” franchise are gay celebrities in their own right and are surrounded by gay men on their shows. However, some fans have been displeased with the ladies over their homophobic comments and their use of the term “my gays.” And now “The Real Housewives” executive producer Andy Cohen has criticized his cast for such comments.

The drama started during this week’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” when cast members of the show repeatedly said things like “my gays” and “their gays.” Fans fired back on Twitter and slammed the cast for treating the gay community like accessories.

Afterward, Cohen voiced his opinion on the matter on “Watch What Happens Live” and schooled the ladies of his franchise on how to talk to and about the gay community.

“Even though some of your friends might be gay, which is great, they are not yours,” he said. “You do not own them. We are not cattle. We are not purses. I will say we are good at reading, so consider yourselves read. I love you.”

Well, some “Housewives” cast members responded to Cohen’s teachable moment. See what they had to say after the cut.
