Broadcast Music, Inc.® (BMI®), a global leader in music rights management, held its annual pre-GRAMMY event, “How I Wrote That Song,” on February 7 at 1OAK in West Hollywood. The list of illustrious panelists included GRAMMY-nominated hip-hop magnate Rick Ross, GRAMMY-nominated scribe Ester Dean, GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter AND producer David Hodges, multiplatinum, GRAMMY-nominated producer Mannie Fresh and country music’s number-one-hit wordsmith Natalie Hemby.

Moderated by BMI vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton, panelists shared their secrets to success in the process of writing, producing and performing hit songs. Each panelist also shared their personal stories behind their greatest and most memorable hits.
