On Wednesday, Feb. 18, former NBA player Jerome Kersey died at the age of 52, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports and Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reported.
No cause of death has been announced.
Kersey, best known for his tenure with the Trail Blazers, played 17 seasons in the NBA. The 6-foot-7 small forward was known for his rugged explosiveness and participation in the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest from 1986-89. In 1999, Kersey won an NBA title with San Antonio, when the Spurs defeated the New York Knicks in five games.
Also a veteran of the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Seattle SuperSonics and Milwaukee Bucks, the late great retired in 2001 with 11,825 points, 6,339 rebounds, 2,134 assists and 799 blocks.
