After years of pop domination, Beyoncé has become nearly untouchable when it comes to petty industry beefs, and most artists in the world of hip-hop and R&B know that taking shots against Beyoncé can result in career suicide if her loyal BeyHive attacks. But rock star Kid Rock just did the seemingly unthinkable and blasted Beyoncé and her musical influence.
Rock spoke about Bey in a new article for Rolling Stone and he questioned why fans loved her so much when, in his eyes, she doesn’t have enough classic records to be an icon.
“Beyoncé, to me, doesn’t have a f—— ‘Purple Rain,’ but she’s the biggest thing on Earth. How can you be that big without at least one ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ or ‘Old Time Rock & Roll’? People are like, ‘Beyoncé’s hot. Got a nice f—— a–.’ I’m like, ‘Cool, I like skinny White chicks with big t–s.’ Doesn’t really f—— do much for me,” Rock explained.
Well, that’s a pretty bold statement for Rock to make, but considering the impact and longevity of Beyoncé hits like “Crazy In Love,” “Single Ladies, and “Drunk In Love,” to name a few, Bey has definitely earned her praise and her spot in the pantheon of music icons.
