The people have spoken. Kendrick Lamar’s major label sophomore LP, To Pimp A Butterfly, is an instant fan favorite.

After a bizarre early release of the highly anticipated album, fans worldwide helped K. Dot to set a new record with 9.6 million streams on Spotify on the first day it was available to listen. The record breaking Spotify showing is reported to have earned Lamar more than $900K in royalties.

Though not yet available for fans to purchase in stores, To Pimp A Butterfly is expected to debut at number one on next week’s Billboard charts with an estimation of 300,000 to 325,000 albums sold digitally in it’s first week.

Physical copies of the album are expected to be on retail shelves on March 24.
