Black 8th grader afraid to attend school after White bullies call him ‘dirty N-word’

Phoenix-Williams

A Black student is afraid to attend middle school because he fears for his life. According to a report by Local 4 in Detroit, eighth grader Phoenix Williams experienced issues with two White students while on the school bus.

The White students verbally abused Williams, threatened to physically harm him, and called him a “dirty N-word.” During the incident, Williams recorded the bullies on his cellphone and turned the footage over to school authorities at Bloomfield Hills Middle School.

The bullies were suspended, but have been allowed to return to school. Williams believes the bullies will retaliate and has asked to to do his schoolwork from home.

School officials have yet to reveal if the students will be further reprimanded. Bloomfield Hills, Michigan’s, population is 88 percent White and just 4 percent Black.
