While the Kardashian family and the entire world expressed sympathy for Bruce Jenner (except Kourtney Kardashian’s boyfriend, Scott Disick) during his exclusive two-hour interview with Diane Sawyer, days prior Wendy Williams didn’t hold back from belting out her true feelings on his transition to a transgender woman.
“I feel duped by Bruce because watching the reality show ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ we felt compassion for Bruce running around after the girls and getting bossed around by that woman! Now I feel duped by Bruce because he is a “fame w—-” like the rest of the family! He was supposed to be the rock that kept the girls together.”
Williams feels duped by Jenner? I’m going to need at least two martinis to write this post. Williams judged Bruce for not paying closer attention to his 17-year-old daughter, Kylie Jenner, who is in love with 25-year-old rap artist Tyga. While everyone is saying that Bruce needs understanding and speaking about how brave Bruce is, #ijs is he really Brave? Or just plain nuts?
I could see if Jenner was born with ambiguous genitalia as some people are ashamed to talk about it, but let’s face the facts; he claims to enjoy sex with women, has been married three times, has six kids but thinks he has been a woman since age 5? There are 5-year-old girls running around here not trying to be a woman. Who at age 5 knows what a woman is anyway?
“I don’t believe that this special needs any more publicity, they don’t need to create stunts to watch it,” she said, referring to the leaked photos of Bruce Jenner wearing a dress. “You’re gonna be shocked that I say this because I am nosy and I made a 30-year career of being nosy. I reached a point with Bruce that — even if I was home the only reason I would watch it is that because I would know on Monday this is the biggest story and I have to watch. If this wasn’t an obligation because of my career I wouldn’t watch.”
Williams sprung into her emotions when she called Bruce, Belinda:
“Shame on you, Belinda! You have got bigger fish to fry right now than transitioning into a woman!”
I’m not saying what Williams said was politically correct but maybe it’s something Bruce needed to hear. I don’t think Williams should get slammed for her comments any more than the people congratulating Jenner on this should be scolded. I do think this whole sharing with the world thing is a bit too much and perhaps it was a transition Jenner could have done privately. No need to share everything with the entire world. This opens people up to public opinion and ridicule and you know you can never make everyone happy anyway.
