There is no more iconic name in the world of blues music than B.B. King. King has been in and out of the hospital as well as canceling tours in the past few months. Now disturbing news is being reported that the 89-year-old music legend may be a victim of elder abuse. King’s daughter, Patty King, allegedly called police on Thursday to settle a family argument as to whether King needed urgent medical care. According to his daughter, his urine was orange in color and he was not eating, King’s longtime manager, Laverne Toney, who has power of attorney over King, disputed the daughter’s concerns regarding her father’s health at the time.

Patty King called paramedics who agreed that the elder King should be transported to the hospital to be checked out. While at the hospital, Patty claims that her father suffered a minor heart attack. King’s daughter and his manager have been in an ongoing dispute over the blues legend’s money and care. Last November, a police report was dismissed by King’s daughter and her husband alleging elder abuse and burglary. The pair claimed that his manager and her assistant were misappropriating $20 to $30 million of King’s money as well as withholding his medication, stealing King’s Rolex watches and a ring valued at $250,000. Police did investigate the claims but no charges were filed by law enforcement. Now there is a battle led by King’s daughter to assume power of attorney over her father.
