Baltimore state’s attorney and chief city prosecutor Marilyn J. Mosby is under fire by the Fraternal Order of Police for her connection to the attorney representing Freddie Gray Jr’s family. On Friday, May 1, Mosby, 35, acted swiftly and some would deem severely in the charges brought against six officers for their involvement in the death of Gray, 25, this past April. Mosby has held her office for six month. Her mentor, who made a financial contribution to her campaign for her current office, is Billy Murphy. He is representing the Gray family in its civil case against Baltimore after its loved one sustained a fatal spinal cord injury while in police custody.

Mosby ruled Gray’s death a homicide and order the arrest of six officers, Caesar Goodson, Brian Rice, Alicia White, Garrett Miller, William Porter and Edward Nero.
