Only a handful of celebs were able to garner as much attention for their outfit as Beyoncé’ did for her sheer Givenchy gown at this year’s annual Met Gala. But while the rest of the world was critiquing and heralding Beyoncé’s look, Women’s Wear Daily decided to run an article that took aim her husband, Jay Z’s, look from the gala.
In the story, WWD criticized Jay’s face and suggested that he get plastic surgery.
“The smile lines are becoming too deep,” wrote WWD. “A bit of filler would do wonders. Maybe he can reach out to his wife’s dermatologist.”
WWD gave Jay’s entire look a C and then pointed out that it looks like he’s gained weight.
“The double-breasted peak-lapel blazer is an elegant choice, however, he seems to have gained some weight — it’s pulling in all the wrong places,” wrote WWD.
The magazine also criticized Jay for not sticking to the evening’s “China” theme.
“[Jay’s] carnation should have been red to tie in with the China theme. It’s not the prom and he’s not the best man at a wedding.”
Well, it’s certainly odd seeing Jay, or any male celebrity for that matter, being critiqued in the way that female celebs usually are. And considering that Jay is the target, it’s safe to assume that WWD won’t be praised for their disdain of Jay’s look.
