American Heart Association hosts Go Red Girlfriend Weekend

The American heart Association kicked off their Go Red Girlfriend Weekend on Friday, May 15, 2015, for the Taste of Soul heart healthy mixer at the American Heart Association headquarters. Event co-chairs, Karen Carter Richards of the Forward Times newspaper; and Sheryl Howard of the Dwight D & Sheryl H. Howard Foundation, who spoke candidly about their experiences that led to joining the organization. Saturday’s event took place at the Fountain of Praise New Life Center for the Go Red Girlfriend Health Symposium. Event attendees enjoyed Zumba classes, heart healthy recipes and stress meditation coping methods. The weekend was brought to a close on Sunday, May 17 with praise and worship services held at Holman Street Baptist Church.
