“Saturday Night Live” newbie Sasheer Zamata has garnered rave reviews from critics and fans alike for parodies of pop superstar Rihanna over the past year. Luckily for Zamata, it seemed like Rihanna had no problems with the parodies either, that is until the two met recently.
According to Us magazine, when Zamata recently spoke at a live chat at Union Hall in Brooklyn, New York, for “Brunch Night With Jamie LeeLo,” she talked about meeting Rihanna for the first time when Rih performed during this month’s “SNL” season finale.
“We had had a good night after the dress rehearsal, and she turned around and saw me and she was like ‘Hey!’ and she gave me a hug,” Zamata recalled.
However, she says Rihanna was less than friendly later on in the evening.
“Then she got drunker progressively throughout the show, and at the end of good nights for the actual show, I went up to give her a hug because I was like, ‘We’re good, we’re besties now,’ ” Zamata said, laughing. “And I was like ‘Hey!’ and she was like [mimes bored wave]. So I was like ‘Ohhh, wow your true feelings are coming out!’ ”
Rihanna has yet to respond to Zamata’s claims, but we imagine if she does that it might not be so pleasant for Zamata. Just ask Ciara how Rihanna reacted when she called her out for having a bad attitude.
