Mariah Carey may have gotten paid millions for sitting on the judges’ panel of American Idol a few years ago, but just because the payout was big doesn’t mean she actually enjoyed her time on the show. And in a recent interview, Carey bashed the soon-to-be-cancelled series with some scathing critiques.

While chatting with the hosts of Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Carey was asked if she’d return for a reunion of sorts, to which she replied with an adamant “No!”

“Hell no! Absolutely not. That was the worst experience of my life,” she said.

Carey then alluded to her infamous “AI” feud with Nicki Minaj as she alleged that producers hyped up a beef between the ladies instead of focusing on the talented contestants.

“I’m not going to get into what it was, but let’s just say I don’t think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool,” she said. “It should have been about the contestants instead of about some nonexistent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness. I would never want to be involved with it again. But everybody else did like it.”

Carey then went further and claimed that both the show and her commentary on the show were fake.

“It’s so boring and so fake, I’m sorry,” Carey said. “When I say it’s fake, I mean, I have to make up things to say about everybody. Half the time, the performances are good, you’ll just be like, ‘It was good. Ending it there was really good.’”
