Brittney Griner’s private life has been anything but boring over the past several weeks. Sadly, it hasn’t been all happy days either, especially after last week when Griner filed to annul her marriage to her longtime love, Glory Johnson, after only 28 days of being married. Now, Griner is finally opening up about her tumultuous life and where she plans to go in life now.

For those that don’t remember the rollercoaster ride that has been Griner’s romantic life, just weeks before marrying Johnson in April, she and Johnson ended up being arrested after a domestic fight. Surprisingly, the couple still wed and just a few weeks later, Johnson announced she was pregnant with their first child. Then, the couple let loose another shocker last week when Johnson revealed a day later that she was filing for an annulment.

In an interview with ESPN, Griner opened up about the past few months and explained her regret over getting into a fight with Johnson.

“The night of the arrest, everybody has seen the reports, I believe. And it was mutual. They called it mutual combat. And that’s what it is. And honestly, I can’t say anything else too much more about it, I’m in my classes and my groups right now, and until I finish and complete everything I have to do, I can’t say much more about it,” Griner said.

“Walk away. No matter what, just walk away. No matter what it is, walk away from the altercation. If you see it getting heated, you see it escalating — walk away. No matter what’s sad, or done. Just walk away — because it never ends good. Domestic violence is never ok, no matter what the situation is. No matter what it is, it’s never the answer. It’s never right. Staying there, that was my worst decision. I should’ve left,” she added.

When asked about Johnson’s announcement that she was pregnant, Griner had little to say about the news, except she was shocked.

“I was definitely surprised. It’s very early. It’s too early to post or say anything about it and, uh, I was surprised,” Griner said.

However, she says she wasn’t surprised about the sudden end of their marriage because she claims she knew she shouldn’t have married Johnson. Read the rest of what Griner had to say after the cut.
