The sold-out Jodeci concert on Wednesday night at the Tabernacle certainly did not disappoint. Performing the third tour date in Atlanta, K-Ci, JoJo, Mr Dalvin and Devante showed up and showed out! Mr. Dalvin was still sexy as ever; Devante had a new hairdo, and K-Ci wanted us to see he still had his dance moves together. JoJo gave us what we wanted and the crowd was still just as inspired as we were in the ’90s. “Stay,” “Forever My Lady,” “Feenin'” and “Alone” were some of the staple songs responsible for the conception of many kids in this new generation.

I was elated when I first heard Jodeci would be making their third tour date stop in Atlanta; but at the same time I was a little nervous after the rumors and the TV One “Coming Clean” special. Never did I want to believe my #1 bad boy R&B group would fall from glory due to substance abuse. The “Coming Clean” special showed us Jodeci was on the road to redemption.

What I anticipated from the Jodeci concert was good ole R&B music just like back in the day when K-Ci and Mary J Blige would sing “I Don’t Wanna Do Anything.”The love they shared on that stage was so strong it made you want to embrace whoever was standing next to you romantically whether you knew them or not. As I saw couples at the Tabernacle swaying from side to side, it definitely was a sign that this group has been working hard to remedy the past and deliver R&B the way we once longed for and the way we want to always remember Jodeci.

Several celebrities came out to support the concert. Tank, Keri Hilson, Daryl ‘Chill’ Mitchell, Rodney Perry, Vh1’s Karlie Redd, Jesse Jackson’s daughter Ashley, SWV, Case (who also performed),Yung Joc, and D. Woods among others showed up to swing back and forth to the Jodeci tunes.
