4th of July Cocktail Recipes that impress Hollywood stars

As America pays its reverence to the Declaration of Independence this weekend, we declare that you honor the 4th of July with some festive cocktails from Andrea Correale, celebrity caterer and founder of Elegant Affairs (www.elegantaffairscaterers.com) and Cornelia Guest of Cornelia Guest Events (www.corneliaguest.com).

4th of July Cocktails

Star-Spangled Spiked Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 oz. vodka
1 cup mixed (or fresh) frozen berries
1 (8 ounce) container vanilla yogurt

Directions:

Combine the vodka, berries, and vanilla yogurt in a blender; blend until smooth. Garnish with fresh blueberries and coconut flakes.

Red, White and Blue Sangria

(Makes 1 Large Pitcher)

Ingredients:

2 bottles dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc is good)?
1 cup triple sec?
1/2 cup berry-flavored vodka?
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice?
1/2 cup simple syrup (see tips below)?
1 cup blueberries?
1 1/2 cups hulled and sliced strawberries?
1 cup raspberries?
1 1/2 cups pineapple chunks (use star shaped cookie cutter to cut out patriotic star shapes)

To Make the Simple Syrup:

To make 1/2 cup simple syrup, boil 1/2 cup water and add 1/2 cup granulated white sugar. Turn heat to simmer and stir until dissolved. Turn off the heat and let cool.

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large punch bowl or pitcher and stir well. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Serve well-chilled with a good scoop of fruit floating in each drink, or serve over ice.

Lady Liberty Lemonade

Ingredients:

2 ounces Triple Sec ounces Limoncello handful of raspberries
2 Oz Mint Leaves
A dash of grenadine for color juice of two lemons club soda raw sugar

Directions:

Add raspberries and mint to the bottom of the glass and sprinkle raw sugar on tome. Muddle these ingredients until it has the appearance of jam.

Add the Triple Sec, Limoncello and lemon juice to your glass. Add a dash of grenadine for color, and then add the ice and top if off with club soda. Stir and serve with a sprig of fresh mint on top!

Blue Raspberry Fizzies

Ingredients

3/4 oz vodka
5 oz champagne
1/4 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
Sparkling Sugar for rim
Raspberries & Cranberries for Garnish Skewer

Directions:

Wet the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and dip the mouth of the glass in the sparkling sugar. Pour vodka, champagne and blue Curaçao liqueur into glass. Skewer raspberries and blueberries and garnish glass.
