As one of the best-selling authors of all time, J.K. Rowling obviously has a way with words. She reminded us of her talents again when she proverbially slayed a Serena Williams hater on Twitter.
In light of Williams’ recent victories, Rowling tweeted, “#SerenaSlam! I love her. What an athlete, what a role model, what a woman!”
One bitter Twitter user, Rob (@diegtristan8), tweeted back to the author, “ironic then that main reason for her success is that she is built like a man.”
Rowling, who was clearly not appreciating the Serena slander, posted a gorgeous picture of the tennis star in a red dress showing off her womanly physique. Along with the picture, she wrote, “”she is built like a man.” Yeah, my husband looks just like this in a dress. You’re an idiot.”
Williams has been receiving a lot of hate lately, but when you’re making history and at the top of your game, that sometimes comes with the territory. For the second time in her career, the 33-year-old athlete just won four consecutive grand slams, or what is dubbed the “Serena Slam,” and she has surpassed Martina Navratilova as the oldest women’s grand slam winner in the Open era, reports CNN.
Williams is now a six-time Wimbledon crown winner, and she may be well on her way to winning the U.S. Open next month.
Perhaps her physique is only a small part of her success. Her genius skill in tennis is what really makes her a champion.
