Even though Teresa Giudice is still behind bars, she’s set to appear in her husband Joe’s “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” spin-off. While the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut will not allow her to make in-person appearances, she will be allowed on the show via phone calls from the prison.
The spin-off is a two-part special that will revolve around how Joe is coping with being a single parent to the couple’s four daughters while Teresa is locked up. According to TMZ, she will also be permitted to keep the money she makes from her appearances.
Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in prison in March 2014 after she and Joe pleaded guilty to hiding their assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitting faux loan applications for $5 million in mortgages and construction loans, Daily Mail reported. Additionally, Joe pleaded guilty to failing to pay over $200,000 in taxes.
Teresa began to serve her time in January, while Joe remains free so he can take care of their daughters — Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 9, and Audriana, 5.
Joe will begin serving his 41-month sentence in a federal prison when Teresa is released.
In a recent interview with US Weekly, Joe spoke about how his daughters are coping with not having their mother around.
“They have their little breakdowns here and there,” he said. “They’ll say, ‘Daddy, when’s she going to be out?’ Or ‘I miss Mommy.’ I just make sure to give them lots of love and a lot of kisses.”
US Weekly reported that Teresa will return to the “RHONJ” cast next season and that the show will capture the moment she is released from prison in December.
