As temperatures heat up in Chicago, so does the violence. It roils neighborhoods, with youngsters and innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire. Echelon Media Sports and the Chicago Bears have a plan to get kids motivated, give them hope, and positive alternatives. Recently, some of the Chicago Bears players came out to a two-day summer camp to spread knowledge and training to inner-city youth.

“This is the fifth year of doing football camps to silence the violence through sports. We had 400 kids out this year with Chicago Bears players: David Bass, Izzy Idonije, Cornelius Washington, Michael Ola, New Orlean Saints Kyle Prater, former Bears player Garret Wolf, along with producer Kosine of Da Internz,” said Roechard Lewis, owner of Echelon Media Sports.

For many of the kids on the field, it was a way to focus on the possibilities in life. The camp served as an inspiration to the city and taught great sportsmanship. To learn more about Chicago Bears’ youth camps visit, chicagobears.com.
