Damond Powell, Jr. was attacked by three masked men during a drive by shooting. According to Toledo News Now, Powell was at home in Toledo with friends when the shooting occurred.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., a gold car with three masked men drove near Powell’s home and the men began firing shots in their direction. Powell was shot in the face during the attack.
He was rushed to the hospital and doctors say his injuries aren’t life-threatening. Police have yet to make an arrest in the attack.
Powell was a standout player at the University of Iowa and is a rookie wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals.
