Compton’s City Hall mural is a piece that depicts the city’s epicenter. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. monument sits in the middle of city hall and also serves as a de facto logo for Compton. The sculpture evokes a mountain to pay tribute to King’s “Mountaintop” speech. The mural also pays homage to the 1984 Olympics, which took place in Los Angeles.

Compton Youth Build is a charter school located off of Compton Boulevard. It provides rigorous education courses for individuals ages 16-24. Its primary goal is to educate and inspire leadership.
