A man falls to his death at Turner Field during Saturday night’s New York Yankees win over the Atlanta Braves.
According to reports, the man was identified as Gregory K. Murrey from Alpharetta, Georgia by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office. Murrey died after he tumbled from the upper deck before hitting a lower level. However, no foul play is suspected at this time, Supervisor Sgt. Gregory Lyon told PEOPLE: “Homicide investigators responded to the scene but nothing in their preliminary investigation indicates a crime occurred.”
Murrey fell around 9 p.m. local time from the stadium’s 400 level seating to the 200 level seating, Lyon continued.
“The Atlanta Braves offer their deepest condolences to the family,” the Braves said in a statement to CNN. “At this time, all inquiries will be directed to the Atlanta Police Department, as this is an ongoing investigation.”
Although fans were escorted from the section in question while medics attended to the man, the game continued. Murrey was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital, reports the Associated Press.
