A number of Karlie Redd’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” co-stars have already taken it all off for porn cameras, but Karlie revealed last month that she turned down a lucrative porn offer and decided to take a deal to pose nude for an upcoming issue of Playboy magazine. Now, she’s explaining why she chose to bare it all in the iconic magazine.
In a new interview with Page Six, Karlie explained that she’s happy to be in Playboy, but she admits she’s nervous to be nude in front of the camera.
“I was very nervous for two reasons: One, it’s Playboy, and two, there were extra cameras because the reality show was filming,” Karlie said.
“But at the end of the day I had to hold myself in and have that confidence and exude that energy that I needed,” she added.
And when discussing the offer from Vivid Entertainment to star in her own porn, Karlie quickly explained that she didn’t want to follow in the footsteps of cast mates like Mimi Faust.
“I wouldn’t even entertain it,” Karlie declared.
Karlie also discusses posing for the mag at the age of 37 and explains that she took inspiration to bare it all from 57-year-old pop legend Madonna.
“They say 40 is the new 20 – that’s how I feel. I’m like a big kid, but I’m a big sexy kid. Madonna still tours and she looks gorgeous so if she can do it, I can do it,” explained Karlie.
However, what was difficult is the inevitable conversation she’s going to have with her 20-year-old daughter about posing nude.
“The conversation is coming up,” confessed Karlie. “I’m going to show her all of the greats who have done it before me. You know how kids are – they think if this person did it then you must be cool.”
