5 questions with Crysta Wicks of The Boss Wife

What’s the concept behind your company, The Boss Wife?
The concept of the brand The Boss Wife is to utilize one of women’s favorite form of expression, which is fashion, to target a group of like minded women who mutually share the same common goal of advancement in their personal relationships, family units, and career paths. Our signature T-shirt collection serves to express the voice of many women across the board.

In your opinion, how important is it for women to uplift other women in business and life?
It’s of the utmost importance. Women uplifting one another is absolutely vital for the proper growth and development of generations to come. Our brand supports women coming together as equals and growing as one. We believe that we can all learn and evolve from each other’s experiences. Having a positive platform that supports positive family units and strong female units will continue to keep the term The Boss Wife as a term and/or name of power and strength with the desire to one day earn their title.

What can attendees expect from your upcoming brand relaunch event?
Our re-launch event, entitled “Married To It,” will happen this Sunday, September 6, and will consist of a fashion show to showcase some of our newest pieces. There will be complimentary passed appetizers and a decadent dessert enjoy while mingling and networking with other like minded women in business. Attendees will also have the opportunity engage in a little retail therapy as we will have local vendors present to introduce their respective businesses. And finally, I will spill a little tea about my upcoming first publication, Everybody Is Not Made For This… Mastering Life As A Boss Wife, available December 2015 

Name three principles or ideals you try to abide by in your business dealings?
Quite simply…commitment, collaboration, and continuity.

What’s next for The Boss Wife?
The goal of the brand is to become a household name that woman everywhere will recognize and be able to relate to. We will continue to promote self development and encourage women to master every area of their life with a support system of their peers. Although women’s apparel is used to inspire and empower woman, our goal is to be one of the leading lifestyle brands in the industry. Our method is leading by example.

The Boss Wife will host it’s re-launch event, “Married To It,” this Sunday, September 6 from 4-7 p.m., at 2341 S. Michigan in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. The event is free to the public.
