Looks like popular gossip blog MediaTakeOut has really stepped in it this time.

On Sept 8.)the site was hit with a lawsuit from Playboy magazine for failing to get permission before reposting nude photos of rapper Azealia Banks from their April 2015 issue.

The lawsuit, which was filed in a New York City court, claims that Playboy not only had the pictures copyrighted but also is the exclusive licensee of the images. MTO is alleged to have not only republished the copyrighted images but also put their own watermark on the pictures as if they were the rightful owners.

“Upon information and belief, defendant knowingly altered and/or falsified copyright management information to conceal defendant’s infringement of plaintiff’s registered and unregistered copyright works,” the lawsuit claims.

Playboy is looking to collect $150,000 per each copyrighted image infringed upon with an additional $25,000 for each violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
