Rémy Martin Presents “The Producers Series” wrapped up a nearly three-month search for the next up-and-coming producer on Saturday, Sept. 12. The celebration of the competition’s end brought together some of the most notable producers in the music business for the crowing of the winner at New York City’s Stage 48.
Super producers Mike Will Made-It, Pete Rock, Just Blaze, Salaam Remi and AraabMuzik were interviewed by Charlamagne Tha God of Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” and asked about how they broke into the business and what goes into making a hit record. AraabMuzik delivered a special performance, and the producers critiqued some of the competition entries among the thousands that were sent in.
The finale before the winner was announced came in the form of a battle judged by Charlamagne, AraabMuzik, and record label veterans. Keith Edwards, aka SoulTronik, was named the first ever winner of The Producers Series.
SoulTronik won studio time at Converse Rubber Tracks Studio and prizes from Levi’s, Fanny Pack Me, Guitar Center, and AKOO.
Swing America was the runner-up, with Buda & Grandz and Calvin Charles also landing a spot as finalists.
