Here’s how the US government is spending your tax dollars in 2016

The holiday season is quickly approaching. With it comes merriment and an opportunity for new beginnings. But, every new year brings a new tax season. Regardless of your personal opinion on taxes, it’s a necessity of every American citizen to pay their share into the federal government’s budget. Before you fork over your earnings to Uncle Sam, consider giving some thought to where all of your money goes.

CommunityTax.com has done some digging and figured out exactly where your dollars are being spent – down to the very last penny. Some of their findings may come as a surprise, while others may not. Health Care, Social Security, and National Defense come in at the top three spots respectively – accounting for just over 65% of the overall budget. But, what about investments into our nation’s infrastructure or international affairs?
