On Thursday, Oct. 15, this writer attended the private dinner party for upcoming NBC sitcom “Truth be Told,” a comedy about two diverse couples: Mitch (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, “Saved by the Bell”) and Tracy (Vanessa Lachey, “Dads”), and Russell (Tone Bell, “Bad Judge”) and Angie (Bresha Webb, “Hung”), a fearless foursome who are both neighbors and best friends. No topic is off limits. Taboo, what’s that? Bite your tongue, never! Whatever comes to mind comes out of their mouths.
Mitch is a college ethics professor and by day his wife Tracy is a tough-as-nails attorney but at night she’s a nurturing mom to their 4-year-old daughter Sadie. Russell is a stand-up comic and Angie, his new bride, is just as quick-witted.
Based on his life, DJ Nash serves as writer and executive producer. Will Packer (“Ride Along”) and director Pam Fryman (“How I Met Your Mother”) also serve as executive producers.
The dinner was held at the trendy STK in Atlanta and hosted by Will Packer and co-star of the show Tone Bell. Guests enjoyed an evening of hors d’oeuvres, drinks and conversation with the super producer himself. Celebrity sighting included Monyetta Shaw of VH1’s “Atlanta Exes” and R&B singer Kermit Quinn.
Make sure to tune in tonight, Friday, Oct. 16 at 8:30 p.m. for the premiere of “Truth be Told.” –erica hamilton
