Fresh off Scream Nation’s multi-city tour, “Scream: Back 2 School Fest 2015,” and commanding the stage at the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards, rapper Rich Homie Quan will take over the court at the Atlanta Hawks opening game on Oct. 27 against the Detroit Pistons.
“I will be there to sing my latest single, ‘Flex,’ so make sure you’re there,” says the young rapper in a video to fans.
It’s the second consecutive season the club has enlisted an Atlanta-based hip-hop star to perform. They partnered with Rapper 2 Chainz last season.
“The Hawks have made Oct. 27 a can’t-miss event and I’m super excited to be the headline performer,” says the “Type or Way” lyricist. “I think it’s great how the Hawks combine music and sports to give Atlanta fans a unique entertainment experience, and I can’t wait to hit the floor on Opening Night when we take on the Pistons.”
“Ooh, ooh, ooh!” Rich Homie Quan will perform before the opening tip, during halftime and once the game is over.
Fans in attendance will have an opportunity to purchase new team merchandise from Hawks Shop, and all guests will receive a free Opening Night t-shirt courtesy of Kia Motors. The “Hudson Grille Hawks Night Out” ticket promotion, offered for all Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday home games this season, is available for the season opener while supplies last and features four game tickets and four $10 Hudson Grille vouchers, starting at $99.
“We remain committed to bringing our fans an experience unlike any other in the NBA,” says Hawks CEO Steve Koonin. “Partnering with Rich Homie Quan to bring more hometown energy into our building is exciting, and another example of our promise to stay ‘True to Atlanta.’”
