RagTrade Atlanta, the top organization focusing on up-and-coming fashion talents from the southeast, held their second annual fashion week, which included the industry-esque 2015 Features Runway Show.

The string of events began on Oct. 13 with the RagTrade Atlanta Kickoff Party at the Aloft Hotel Downtown, and continued on Oct. 14 with the runway show at the Georgia Freight Depot. The show was presented in partnership with the Art Institute of Atlanta. Some other brand partners included The City of Atlanta, the Lincoln Motor Company, Jezebel magazine, and more.

The runway gathering featured spring/summer 2016 fashions from some of the most promising designers in the industry: “Project Runway” season 14 contestant, Edmond Newton; 2015 Belk Southern Designer Showcase winner, Natt Taylor; The city of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs 2015 Emerging Fashion Designer Grant recipient, Kenya Freeman of Sylvia Mollie; SCAD alumni and Charleston Fashion Week 2014 Emerging Designer, Zachary Howell of Zachary/Nathaniel; and SCAD alumni and protegé of National Design Award winner Behnaz Sarafpour, Brendan Combs.

“Atlanta has emerged as one of the most exciting, inventive and inspiring cities in the world,” said RagTrade Atlanta founder Angela Watts. “Entrepreneurship plays an important role in fueling Atlanta’s growth, adding jobs and building communities. RagTrade Atlanta and our strong brand partners recognize the talent in our fashion community.”

Then, on Oct. 15, RagTrade Atlanta partnered with Phipps Plaza to host a post-celebration and VIP sip and stroll shopping gala, with drinks provided by Twenty Grand Vodka.
