She’s been traveling on the wings of love and amazing us with her high octave voice for over five decades, Patti LaBelle has high octave vocals that are matchless. Born Patricia Louise Holt-Edwards and fondly referenced as Ms. Patti Patti, she’s trekked countless halls of fame (Grammy, Hollywood, Apollo, Songwriters) and is a four-time Grammy Award-winning singer. She has a heart of gold that’s also incomparable. Having lost three sisters – Vivian, Barbara and Jackie – to cancer, LaBelle has made it her business to raise her voice and champion research.
On Tuesday, LaBelle joined philanthropist and songwriter Denise Rich for the third time at Rich’s 2015 Angel Ball, which is Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research’s annual fundraiser to support their work to fund the nation’s best and brightest scientific investigators whose research focuses on finding less toxic treatments for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grants.
