Old habits die hard. That is until you stop pulling the trigger that gives them life.

In order for anything to sustain itself, it must have life. What old habits are you consciously or unconsciously pulling the trigger on your dreams and holding you back from entering the greatest season of your life? It’s time to stop allowing your comfortability to rule over your un-comfortability and continue to give life to those things which we know are dead.

Change isn’t easy but it is necessary.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, a time of every purpose under heaven.”

God is a God of seasons. He purposefully created a start time and an end time for our lives. He purposefully created the four seasons that exist. He even purposefully created each new season of your life.

I want you to declare and take ownership that it is a new season. When you do this, you will experience:

1. Change: It’s imperative that we recognize with new seasons come change. As our lives continue to progress, we will never be who we desire to be or live the kind of lives we desire until we allow and embrace change. Every ounce of your being is well designed by God, the ultimate change architect. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. Philippians 1:6 shares his commitment to us: “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” In other words, trust and believe in God’s power and love.

2. Challenges: New seasons brings new challenges. These challenges are to usher us into a season of strength and increased faith. The question is, will you pass through this season of challenges or will you get stuck and allow it to become your season of failure? Don’t allow your season of challenges to get you off track and away from God’s love. Regardless of what your challenges are, face them knowing that it is with his power and not yours that you can do all things, including this challenge.

3. Champions: New seasons birth champions! You’ve made it. You held on to your new convictions and embraced your power and you see transformation has taken place. God has transformed all of us from what we were to what we are supposed to be. You have now entered into YOUR season of power and purpose.

Let me share that I’ve lived what I’m talking about. I lost my dream job almost 14 years ago. Embarrassed by how it was done, hurt by the very people who proclaimed they loved me and dismayed by God allowing this to happen to me, I thought that God had turned his back on me and my dreams. It was my faith, everything that I believed in, that kept me. Thank God I stayed the course and did not throw in the towel. I knew I was a champion and now I’m wearing my championship ring.

Regardless of if you are entering a season, in the middle of a season or coming out of a season, weather the storm. I’m not saying it will be easy, but stay on course. God is faithful.

And remember this, champions enter the ring of life already knowing who they are. Their 12-round bout is only to prove it!
