Once again the “hacktivist” group Anonymous is in the news over a release of sensitive information. The group announced almost two weeks ago that Operation KKK would reveal the names of members of the Ku Klux Klan. Anonymous made good on its threat this morning and the names, addresses, emails, family members, employers and telephone numbers of alleged KKK members were posted online.The level of information is disturbing for some, especially since Anonymous has gotten information wrong in the past. But people on the list are sure to receive some phone calls and emails today from all across the nation. From Philadelphia to Georgia and beyond, the names and locations of the alleged members are on view for all to see. Here are a few of the names on the massive list:
- Chris Barker Imperial Wizard and Amanda Barker, Loyal White Knights of the KKK-Reidsville, North Carolina
- Timothy Alan Cahill-Lake Park, Georgia
- Ronald Edwards, Imperial Wizard of the Invisible Knights of America-Dawson Springs, Kentucky
- Richard A Piglowski-Weldon Spring, Missouri
- William Walters, Grand Dragon of the East Coast Knights of the Truly Visible Empire- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Everette Webster Ellis, Chairman and Treasurer of Jefferson Davis Memorial Committee- Ashland, Virginia
- Charles “Chuck” McMichael, Commander, Sons of Confederate Veterans- Shreveport, Louisiana
