Edgar Antillon and Miguel Jimenez are two Hispanic men who own Rubbin Buttz BBQ in Milliken, Colorado. The owners decided they were going to take a stand against the celebration of Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month with their own special day. On June 11, 2015 they will celebrate ‘White Appreciation Day’ at their restaurant and give every White person, and no one else, a 10 percent discount. “We have a whole month for Black History Month. We have a whole month for Hispanic heritage month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate White Americans,”  stated Antillon .The owners of the restaurant feel they are actually bringing the races together by attempting to unite by discriminating. But they could face a possible legal backlash, according to Jennifer McPherson of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. “If someone felt like they were being discriminated against, they could come to the civil rights division and file a complaint in our office and we would investigate that.” Looking at the Facebook page for the business there are a vast number of positive comments from current and possibly future customers regarding the planned celebration. However, the owners have stated they will probably not offer similar discounts to any other racial groups in the future.
