Nearly two years after purchasing Beats Music, Apple, the popular technology brand is shutting down the music streaming service this holiday season. The official shutdown date was announced on the Beats Music support website. The post read:
“Beats Music ends on November 30. Your subscription will be cancelled, but you can move your picks and preferences over to Apple Music right now.

All the pros that curated music for you are still crafting more amazing experiences. Plus, on Apple Music, you’ll get even better recommendations based on music you already listen to and love, 24/7 global radio with Beats 1, exciting material from your favorite artist, and more.”

The news comes shortly after the software giant announced they’ll be ramping up Apple Music, which just became available on Android. Naturally, Apple is encouraging Beats subscribers to shift their libraries and playlists over to the Apple Music platform with its migration tool before the service is shuttered on Nov. 30.

Apple first acquired Beats in May 2014 for a whopping $3 billion, a bundle price that included Beats Music, the popular headphone line, speakers and the company’s executives. Fortunately for fans of the Beats brand, their products will still be available for purchase following the streaming service’s shutdown.
