The Black McDonald’s Operators Association of Chicago wanted to give back this Thanksgiving holiday season by giving away 1,500 turkeys at a recent community holiday charity meal. Three McDonald’s restaurants were selected and 500 people were fed a Thanksgiving meal at each location. While it was raining, many people were in attendance and lines wrapped around buildings and through parking lots. Musical artists came out to entertain and minister to the crowd at one location. Performers included Lemmie Battles (triple-cancer survivor and singer) and Ryan Booker in the Inspiration 1390 AM radio tent. The Inspiration 1390 AM host Angela Martin and Pastor John Hannah of New Life Church passed out turkeys to the public.
