Pay bills on time, all the time. If you have a great credit score (775 and above), missing one payment can shave 90-110 points off your credit score. Also, entering into a debt-settlement plan can shave 45-65 points off your credit score. On the flipside, paying your bill consistently will increase your credit score over time.
