Ciara is much more than an R&B star; she’s also a proud mother. This week, the 30-year-old used her Instagram account to describe her relationship with her adorable 1-year-old son, Future Zahir Wilburn.
“Children are a blessing from the Lord; the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalms 127:3,” the singer captioned the above snap, featuring herself, hugging her son. The singer, who shares her son with rapper Future, 32, previously gushed about her little man, calling him a “gift from God.”
“Honestly, I feel like everything in life happens for a reason and my son has been the greatest gift that God has given me in my life and been the most game-changing thing that’s happened to my life, in a necessary way,” said Ciara on Power 105.1 FM’s syndicated radio show “The Breakfast Club,” earlier this year.
If you ask us, it appears that her relationship with Seattle Seahawks footballer Russell Wilson, and new found faith have rubbed off on her role as a mother, as well. “The other day we were saying, ‘Thank you, Jesus’ and I would say, ‘Say, thank you!’ And he would say, ‘Tank you!’ I’d say, ‘Je-sus’ and he’d say, ‘Yee-yus,'” she previously told People. “It is so sweet!” In August, she explained to “CBS This Morning” that she wanted to inspire other Christians, saying, “You know, I was at church and I think the cool thing is just that being able to share our journey with other people like us.”
It’s been a roller-coaster year for the Atlanta native, who’s juggled motherhood, dropped a new album, trekked out on tour and battled slander from her famous ex. Needless to say, it appears CiCi has her priorities in order. We’re excited to see what the New Year has in store for her, little Future and her main squeeze.
