Hoverboards have been one of the hottest items of this holiday season, but they’re already causing a load of trouble. Several videos have surfaced of people violently falling off the board, and now a priest has been suspended for using one in church.

During Christmas Eve mass at a Catholic church in the Philippines, Father Albert San Jose closed out the evening by singing “May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You.” While he sang, he traveled through the church on a hoverboard. The video of the event went viral on the NOVUS ORDO Insider Facebook page, and now the priest’s diocese has suspended him.

“The Eucharist demands utmost respect and reverence,” the Diocese of San Pablo wrote in a statement regarding the incident. “It is the Memorial of the Lord’s Sacrifice. It is the source and summit of Christian life. It is the Church’s highest form of worship. Consequently, it is not a personal celebration where one can capriciously introduce something to get the attention of the people.”

The priest has since apologized for the indiscretion, according to the diocese’s Facebook page. They added that while he is out of the parish, he will “spend some time to reflect on this past event.”
