Aaron Hernandez found guilty of murder
Although former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez was charged with the murder of his friend, Odin Lloyd, in 2013, he was not found guilty of the crime until April 15. Lloyd, who was dating Hernandez’s fiancée’s sister, had been shot to death and his body was found in an industrial yard. Hernandez, 25, was charged with first-degree murder in Lloyd’s death, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. He was sentenced to life without parole. Sports fans who had once seen a lot of potential in Hernandez felt that the young man had thrown away his opportunities by staying wrapped up in a criminal lifestyle.
