Kobe Bryant set to retire
Basketball fans knew it was only a matter of time until one of the greatest NBA players of our generation announced his retirement. That fateful day came on Nov. 29 when the 37-year-old posted a piece entitled “Dear Basketball,” in which he described what the game means to him and why he has to let it go.
“This season is all I have left to give. My heart can take the pounding. My mind can handle the grind but my body knows it’s time to say goodbye,” Bryant wrote.
The 2015-2016 season will be Bryant’s last. In his 20 years in the league, he’s helped the Los Angeles Lakers win five NBA championships and he has garnered 25,000 points, 6,000 rebounds and 6,000 assists.
