Angela Simmons, Romeo Miller and their entire cast graced the city of Atlanta for a private screening of “Growing Up Hip Hop.” This We TV sponsored event brought all the Atlanta reality TV stars out. Cold weather did not stop the cast of “Growing Up Hip Hop” or the other stars from slaying the red carpet. The wind even blew in Honey Boo Boo and Mama June, who is currently staring on “Marriage Bootcamp.” The energy on the red carpet was great and the media folks were so excited there was less elbowing for positions on the red carpet.
Following the red carpet was a screening that gave us a really good introduction to the cast, which consists of Angela Simmons (daughter of Rev Run (DMC), TJ Mizell (son of the late Jam Master Jay), Romeo Miller (son of Master P.), Kristinia Debarge (daughter of James Debarge, who’s currently serving a prison sentence involving drug charges), Egypt Criss (daughter of Pepa – Salt’n Pepa – and Treach -Naughty by Nature) and Boogie Dash (son of Damon Dash). Is this a cast of children from legendary hip-hop royals or what?
During the screening, we got a sneak peek at what the life of a child born into hip hop royalty might look like. This should be a very interesting show. I’m not going to give away any spoilers but I am going to say Damon Dash, of course, steals the show.
Another “Marriage Bootcamp” and former “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” reality star by the name of Althea Hart was in the building and she looked amazing considering she just delivered a baby a few months ago. No, Benzino was not there. Maybe he was on daddy duty or embarrassed by the Twitter rant when Althea recently blasted him.
Additional attendees included Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Mimi Faust, Stevie J, Joseline Hernandez, Mama June (WE tv’s “Marriage Boot Camp”), Alanna “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson (TLC’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”), Erica Dixon, Althea Hart, Demetria McKinney, Gocha Hawkins, Dice Dixon, Toya Wright, Monyetta Shaw, Drea Kelly, the casts of “Selling It: In the ATL” and “Cutting It: In the ATL,” Shanti Das, Angela Watts, Jonell PR and many, many more.
“Growing Up Hip Hop” (#GUHH) premieres Thursday, Jan. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on WE tv. Check out the photo gallery, after the break.
