On Thursday, Feb. 11, rapper Kanye West descended on New York Fashion Week at Madison Square Garden, where he debuted Yeezy Season 3 and a whole debacle of drama, by way of some new music. During the show, which was live streamed by Tidal, West premiered his latest album, The Life Of Pablo — the disc formerly known as Waves, Swish, and once upon a time, So Help Me God, featuring loads of name drops.
From Taylor Swift, to Blac Chyna, to West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, and her ex Ray J, the controversial hip hop head didn’t shy away from drama in his new lyrics. “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that b—- famous,” West says in a song alluding to that time in 2009 when he interrupted Swift’s speech at the MTV VMAs. And while the musicians buried the hatchet last year when the pop superstar presented Yeezy with the Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs, West’s recent diss begs the question: did Yeezy just break his truce with the pop superstar?
But it didn’t stop there. On a second track, the rapper, designer, and entrepreneur had a few words for reality star Ray J: “Me and Ray J could be friends if we ain’t love the same b—-. Yeah, he mighta hit it first, only problem is I’m rich.” As you may recall, Ray J infamously appears in the Kardashian’s sex tape, which was leaked in 2007 – years before West and Kardashian tied the knot.
As for Rob Kardashian’s new relationship with Blac Chyna, whose ex Tyga is dating Rob’s half sister Kylie Jenner, West said, “Blac Chyna f—ing Rob, helped him with his weight.” Shots fired? Needless to say, West’s show was an event of epic proportions, not just because he delivered drama in true Yeezy fashion, but the clothes weren’t all that bad either.
