Many Asian Americans have been protesting the conviction of 28-year-old Peter Liang in the death of 28-year-old Akai Gurley. The victim was struck by Liang’s bullet when it ricocheted off a wall. Liang did not immediately call for medical attention for Gurley. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
