T.I. is headed to Las Vegas. The rapper-actor recently landed a monthly residency at Drai’s Nightclub at the Cromwell, reports the L.A. Times.
“Tip is an exceptional entertainer and addition to the Drai’s Live series,” Michael Gruber, president and partner of Drai’s Enterprises, said in a statement. “A reigning figure in the music industry and beyond, we are thrilled for what’s in store with his performances and we look forward to welcoming him into the Drai’s family.”
The name should ring a bell, as the popular indoor-outdoor hotspot has booked multi-gig performances from some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Big Sean, the Weeknd and Chris Brown. Not to mention, their live concert series has hosted performances from Nicki Minaj, ASAP Rocky, Trey Songz, Miguel and Fabolous.
The news of Tip’s residency comes shortly after the rapper announced a new distribution deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation for his forthcoming album, Dime Trap. He also joined the long list of artist co-owners of Jay’s Tidal music streaming service.
With performances already scheduled through July (more to be announced later), this could be a really good look for the Atlanta native. In the meantime, hit the flip for five acts we hope to see from the hip hop head while on residency.
