An argument over loud music allegedly led to the untimely and tragic death of a pregnant woman. According to reports by Fox 6 in Milwaukee, Shanika Minor, 23, and her neighbor Tamecca Perry, 23, had been arguing for weeks over loud music. Minor and Perry were locked in a battle over Perry’s decision to play her music at high decibels whenever she chose.
Apparently, Perry decided to play her music loudly during the early morning hours of March 6 and Minor became irate. Around 3 a.m., Minor left her home, which she shares with her mother, and decided to confront Perry. An argument ensued and that’s when the situation escalated and things turned violent.
Minor left her home armed with a gun, and her mother followed in an attempt to calm her down. Minor’s mother grabbed her and told her that Perry was nine months pregnant. But Minor continued to yell at Perry. Perry’s boyfriend also attempted to step in between the women.
At some point, Minor pointed a gun at Perry. Perry’s boyfriend grabbed her kids after they attempted to run to their mother. Minor aimed the gun at Perry and began firing, striking her in the chest. Moments after the shooting, Minor, still armed, fled the scene.
Minor’s mother and Perry’s boyfriend called 911. Perry was rushed to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Her baby, who was scheduled to be born on March 11, also died.
Due to Perry’s pregnancy and the death of her unborn child, Minor will face charges of killing two people. The charges against Minor include first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child.
At press time, Minor remains on the run and authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating her. If she is captured and convicted, Minor faces a life sentence.
