Donald Trump’s rallies are resembling the ugly hatred that took place during integration in the 1950s and ‘60s. Nonviolent individuals who are expressing their right to free speech are being attacked, called racial slurs, and even being spit on while at Trump campaign events.

The latest violent act occurred in Fayetteville, North Carolina. A group of Trump protesters were being escorted out of the rally when one of Trump’s supporters reacted with violence. Rakeem Jones was leaving the event when John McGraw decided to sucker punch Jones. Jones stumbled a bit and was immediately detained by the officers who were on duty. A video of the incident shows that authorities never attempted to arrest McGraw or escort him out of the facility due to his violent action.

After the rally, McGraw spoke about the incident and revealed his ignorance and hate during an interview with “Inside Edition.” “[I enjoyed] knocking the h— out of that big mouth,” McGraw said. “We don’t know who he is, but we know he’s not acting like an American. The next time we see him, we might have to kill him.”

This is the America that Donald Trump and his followers are seeking to create. They want a place where only White men are allowed to prosper. And anyone who goes against their sick ideology will face violence or even death.

But Trump should be held responsible for creating that atmosphere. During previous rallies, Trump has encouraged his supporters to attack protesters by meeting them with violence. When a protester in Alabama was attacked, Trump said, “Maybe he should have been roughed up.”

At some point, Trump should be held accountable for the people who endure violence at his rallies. McGraw, 74, was finally arrested for attacking Jones. He is being charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
